Prof. Ravi P Singh

About warden:

Originally from Gazipur, UP, Prof. Ravi studied at the Udai Pratap College, Varanasi (B.S.), The Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi (M.S.) Chemistry and Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (PhD Chemistry). To gain expertise in the area of synthetic organic chemistry he moved to Harvard University and joined Prof. E. J. Corey Lab (Nobel Laureate) and from there he moved to Brandeis University and joined Prof. Li Deng group. He began his career as a senior research scientist for CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory. Subsequently, he moved as assistant professor to Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology- Delhi.

Message from the warden:

I would like to use this platform to welcome you to this hall of residence “Jwalamukhi”. My name is Ravi P Singh and I am the warden of the Jwalamukhi. I am also assistant professor in the department of chemistry. In my role as warden, I am responsible for maintaining a safe, peaceful and pleasant environment in which you can feel like home, make friends and study. I am assisted by a caretaker, an assistant caretaker, a mess-supervisor, and an assistant mess supervisor in this task. Jwalamukhi has a well-deserved reputation as one of the friendliest, sociable and outgoing of student communities central to the vibrant social life of Jwalamukhi into an active student hall committee.
Jwalamukhi has two common rooms, where residents chill out read newspaper, watch TV and meet for meetings and functions. We have computer rooms, a music room and a sport facility room in our hostel. We have a functional guest house with eight rooms for our visitors. Recently we have added a new gym in our hostel. We next plan to add a reading room in the hostel.
We all are committed to enhancing the Jwalamukhi’s reputation as a student-centred, studious, innovative, sportive and dynamic hall of residence of IIT-Delhi.
